Urinary incontinence is treatable. Go good majority of t h e people with bladder problems can be treated with simple treatments that are available now. If incontinence can not b e cured it can at least be controlled. Urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, and enlarged prostate are main causes of bladder incontinence. Incontinence can happen to both men and women.
Many of the causes of bladder control problems are temporary. Smoking is a known irritant to bladders so quitting will bring your bladder back to normal in no time. Being constipated and regular straining for a bowel movement can weaken the muscles that control urination. Diabetes can damage nerves and interfere with sensations. Obesity can cause excess body fat to reduce muscle tone including the muscles used in bladder control.
Spinal cord injuries can create problems with the signals between the bladder and the brain. This will disrupt bladder function. People who have arthritis may have mobility problems and walking can be painful and slow and they end up having an accident before they can reach the restroom. Other diseases that cause problems with incontinence include stroke, multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
Stress incontinence occurs when you do anything to strain the muscles around the bladder like laughing, coughing, sneezing, bending, or even walking for some people. The cause is because of weakness or injury to the muscles of the pelvis or sphincters. Physical changes from pregnancy, childbirth, or menopause can cause injury that causes incontinence.

Just because a nurse is studying medicine does not mean she is all knowing. The fact is she is
still a refuse (human faeces and urine) collector. Treat yourself with cranberry extract which is
available at link given below. Good luck and God bless. Cheers!

I get these often too, go drink Cranberry juice, but also you can get AZO over the counter and that is for UTI's. You might pee orange for a day or so but it helps quickly.

Once the infection is active you need antibiotics. Cranberry juice helps prevent UTIs by preventing bacteria from adhering to the urethra wall. But it cannot get rid of bacteria that is already there. Drink cranberry to help prevent future infections but you need antibiotics for the one you already have.
Edit - Mercola is a disgusting fraud.

There are none, you need antibiotics. d-mannose and cranberry won't do a damn thing. Mercola is a quack.
Ignore the cranks.
Gary Y replied on Tue, 17 May, 2011
You can tell these quacks time and time again, and put the evidence right under their noses, but still they will tell people that cranberry heals UTIs. It DOESN'T.
From the NCCAM:
"What the Science Says
There is some evidence that cranberry can help to prevent urinary tract infections; however, the evidence is not definitive, and more research is needed. Cranberry has not been shown to be effective as a treatment for an existing urinary tract infection."

If you have a UTI, you need antibiotics. See a doctor and please understand the internet is crawling with cranks, bad health advice, scams and fraud.

EDIT: @KSTUDENT, please post your peer reviewed scientific data that supports your claim: "D-Mannose does TOTALLY work".

It used to be cranberry extract capsules (not juice). The latest is d-mannose. Check out the articles at Mercola.com
Avg. recovery is 1-3 days.
